The Library Committee is an advisory body for the college administration. Its primary aim is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the library of the college.

FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       To ensure that the library building is properly maintained, structured, functional and has necessary arrangements for efficient management of its activities.

2.       To guide the Librarian in formulating general library policies and regulations which govern the functions of the library.

3.       To provide for proper documentation services and updating the Library collection.

4.       To work towards modernization and improvement of Library and documentation services.

5.       To formulate policies and procedures for efficient use of Library resources.

6.       To review Library readership department-wise.

7.       To adopt measures to enhance readership.

8.       To prepare budget and proposals for the development of the Library.

9.       To recommend to the authorities the fees and other charges for the use of the Library.

10.     To seek feedback on Library functions from readers.

11.     To submit the annual report on the functioning of the library

12.     To take measures to increase the membership of the Library beyond the boundaries of the College.

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS

Membership: The membership of nominated members of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell shall be for a period of two years from the date of notification.

 

Meeting:        The Committee should meet at least once in every quarter.

 

Quorum:        The quorum for the meeting shall be two-thirds of the total number of members.

 

Record

Keeping:         The agenda, minutes and Action Taken Reports are to be documented with official signatures and maintained in a register and electronically in a retrievable format.

 

Reporting:      A copy of the same will be submitted to the IQAC of the college for preparation of various reports of IQAC. And a soft copy of the same has to be submitted to the Principal (Administration) and to the Secretary (Management) of the institution.
