COMMITTEE FOR SOCIAL EXTESION AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

 

1. Overview & Mandate

The Committee for Social Extension and Cultural Activities is a supervisory and advisory body for Annada College, Hazaribag. Its primary aim is to inculcate and develop social sensitivity, moral values, and professional ethics in students alongside their academic formation. This ensures students exhibit responsible behaviour towards the professional community and society at large, developing into conscientious citizens of high integrity. Furthermore, the committee actively nurtures and showcases student talents in performing and fine arts.

4. Functions & Key Responsibilities

·         Ethical & Social Workshops: Arranging regular discussions, seminars, and interactive workshops on critical issues of social importance, ethical relevance, and moral values.

·         Social Service Clubs & Fieldwork: Organizing student social service groups, volunteer clubs, and outdoor field activities to foster direct community engagement.

·         Community Extension Drives: Conducting social outreach drives such as Blood Donation Camps, Area Cleaning Drives, Plantation Campaigns, COVID-19/Health Awareness, Cleanliness Drives, No Plastic Drives, and Digital Literacy Programmes.

·         Performing Arts & Extracurriculars: Promoting and organizing extracurricular platforms to identify, train, and showcase student talent in dance, music, drama, and fine arts.

·         Inter & Intra-Collegiate Events: Managing and overseeing all institutional cultural celebrations and inter-collegiate festivals (e.g. Youth Festivals, Independence Day, Republic Day).

·         Annual Cultural Planning: Planning and scheduling social extension and cultural events for the academic year, ensuring tentative dates are incorporated into the college Academic Calendar.

·         Standardized Event Framework: Formulating standardized operating procedures and structured guidelines for organizing institutional cultural festivals.

·         Publicity & Information: Widely publicizing upcoming festivals, competitions, and extension initiatives across campus and digital media.

·         Staff & Student Engagement: Organizing engaging cultural programs and recreational initiatives for both college staff and students.

·         Student Leadership Development: Forming and mentoring the 'Students’ Cultural Committee' to develop event management, leadership, and team-building skills among students.
