Annada College, Hazaribagh was established in the year 1979 to mark the centenary celebration of the establishment of Annada Shishu Vidyalaya, Hazaribagh. It is an undergraduate college that runs classes for Intermediate (Plus Two) and Degree Courses in all the three streams. It is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh. Prior to this, it was affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi. The college has the credit of pioneering vocational degree courses in the region. In the year 2009, the college launched Vocational Degree Courses in BCA and Bio-Technology. The Vocational Degree Course of BBA was started in the year 2010. Recently the college introduced the teaching of B. Voc. in Software Development under the scheme NSQF of UGC.

On January 04,1989, the Bihar Government recognized the college as a Linguistic Minority College on the basis of its educational structure vide Letter/memo no.- 13/A6-052/82. The college is also registered under the section of College Clause 2(f) and 12-b by the University Grant Commission Act of 1956.

The college campus is located in an area of 5.63 acres in the heart of the town of Hazaribagh. More than 150 teaching and non-teaching staff remain on their toes to support the students.
